Our Annual Reception each year connects 100 successful women with 100 students from 25 schools and is an extremely valuable forum for networking.

During the reception students have the opportunity to network with women across a variety of sectors, giving an insight into their job roles.

On the evening students heard from Director of Liberty, Shami Chakrabarti; and Miriam Gonzalez Durantez, Partner at DLA Piper and wife of the Deputy Prime Minister.  Both spoke about the importance of role models and provided the students assembled with personal anecdotes and some useful career advice.

The evening served as a valuable forum for networking, with students given the opportunity to meet inspirational women such as Vanessa Branson, Susan Davis, Chairman of Vital Voices and Alison Nimmo CBE of the Olympic Delivery Authority.

Pinky Lilani OBE said “working on the Ambassadors programme has been a true delight for me personally. I have been hugely inspired by the students, teachers and women I have met through the Awards. Being able to connect these people together is very powerful and exciting. Through this programme, we are really able to open doors and provide role models for young women to aspire to. I am grateful to Aviva for their support, and to all the women that I have met, who are keen to give something back.”

John Ainley, Group HR Director of Aviva said “At Aviva, we believe in the benefits that diversity brings to business. We are proud to support the creation of the talent pipeline and developing balanced leadership. The Women of the Future Ambassadors Programme is an inspiring and valuable initiative, supporting and engaging with the next generation of female talent in the UK.”
