Women of the Future - Ambassadors Programme

The Women of the Future Ambassadors programme

The Women of the Future Ambassadors programme is a unique initiative that connects award-winning women with sixth-formers.

The objective of the programme is to provide students with mentors and role models, thus strengthening the pipeline of talent among Britain's younger women.

The programme has four main components:
1 - Visits and mentoring
We have a detailed speaker bureau of high achieving women in business, the professions, the arts and media. These ambassadors conduct school visits throughout London and the Home Counties. Visits include mentoring A-level classes, awards evenings. addressign school assemblies and conferences.

2 - Annual reception
The reception takes place each year, connecting 100 successful women with 100 students from 25 schools. The reception acts as a forum for students to get career advice, whilst also motivating and inspiring the students in their career path- 2011 Reception takes place on October 10.

3 - Company visits
The programme organises student excersions to business and public-sector organisations. This is a valuable way of giving students a deeper insight into the world of work.

4 - The Inspirational Educator award
This award is presented at the annual reception to acknowledge a deserving individual who is raising aspirations in the UK today.

"The Ambassadors programme provides the UK with an important and exciting platform to inspire our young students and leaders of the future with role models from across public and private sectors. It is also a brilliant example of highlighting and connecting female talent across generations which is critical if we are to increase female representation and skills in nontraditional jobs, industry sectors and at FTSE board level."
