Essay competition:  Women of the Future Ambassadors Programme & Face to Faith

This year the Women of the Future Ambassadors Programme has joined with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation’s Face to Faith Programme to launch an essay writing competition for female school students between the ages of 16 to 18.

Face to Faith is an innovative global schools programme connecting young people across the world. It gives young people the opportunity to discuss global issues and learn about the cultural and religious backgrounds of others.

Students were asked to submit their essays discussing the topic of religion in today’s society.

The judges were bowled over by the essays submitted and it has been an immensely difficult task for them to select a winner. It was clear a lot of time and effort had gone into writing these essays and we wanted to thank all the candidates so much for taking part. The judges felt you all deserved recognition!

The winner was Caroline O'Loughlin from Ursuline High School. The judges said it was a really great piece of work, clearly argued, passionate and well written. They said there was a lovely combination of the personal and academic and found the essay fascinating.

Charlotte Robbins from Channing School was also highly commended for a very impressive and mature piece of work.

Both were invited to attend the Faith Shorts Film Awards Ceremony at BAFTA and to meet Tony Blair, please see pictures below!

Caroline who will also receive a work shadowing opportunity for a day with a successful woman at the top of her chosen career.
